For a research study with 4 levels of factor A, 2 levels of factor B, and n = 7 in each treatment condition, what are the df values for the F equation for the main effect for factor A?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

For a research study with 4 levels of factor A, 2 levels of factor B, and n = 7 in each treatment condition,

Here The factor A has 4 levels i.e.A=4

The factor B has 2 levels i.e B=2

n=7

The degrees of freedom for main effect A (dfA)=A-1=4-1=3

The degreees of freesom for within (dfW)=A*B*(n-1)=4*2*(7-1)=8*6=48

F-value for main effect for factor A(FA) =MS(A)/MS(W) ~F(dfA,dfW)

FA ~F(3,48)

The df values for the F equation for the main effect for factor A is 3,48
