Answer #1

COIN TOSSING EXPERIMENT

The coin tossing experiment is a real world example that follows a binomial distribution.

requirements:

suppose an unbiased coin is tossed n times.

each trail results out in two outcomes, success and failure.

the probability of success in each trial is same equal to p.

If X denote a random variable that counts the number of success in n trials, then X is said to follow a binomial distribution with parameters n and p, and its pmf is given by,

Provide an example that follows either the binomial or Poisson distribution, and explain why that example follows that particular distribution. In your responses to other students, make up numbers for the example provided by that other student, and ask a related probability question. Then, show the work (or describe the technology steps), and solve that probability example.
