A commuter spends six months commuting by rail and another six months commmuting by carpooling. She decides that it will be worth the inconvenience of carpooling (she is NOT chatty in the morning!) if it saves her an average of at least 15 minutes of travel time per day.
Here, we want to determine if the difference in the average travel time for the two ways of commuting is greater than 15.
For this, let be the average travel time per day by rail and carpool respectively.
Carpooling will be a better choice if the difference in this average is atleast 15min i.e. >15
