In this discussion answer the following questions

1) In conducting an Analysis of Variance Test what are we actually testing?

2) What are the main requirement for the test.

3) Which of those requirement do you think is the most difficult to established.

Answer #1

1)Analysis of variance is a statistical method used to test differences between two or more means. It may seem odd that the technique is called "Analysis of variance" rather than " Analysis of means".

As we will see the name is appropriate because inferences about means are made by analysing variance.

2) Main Requirements or Assumptions:

  1. The experimental errors of our data are normally distributed
  2. Equal variances between treatment. means homogeneity variances- homoscadasticity
  3. Independence of samples each sample is randomly selected and independent.

3) It is difficult to analyse ANOVA under strict assumptions regarding the nature of data.

It provides no additional information as compared to t test.

This can be as simple as you were given an amount of money and had to explain different ways to best utilize the money to make ends meet, to as complicated as a professional issue that needed to be solved. Which testing method—one-sample or two-sample parameter tests—is the better test to use to formulate an answer to a hypothesis? Explain.

or the following, indicate what type of analysis (test) you would perform and what alternative hypothesis you are testing. If you think a directional test is appropriate, make sure you incorporate this in the alternative hypothesis. agree or not? Question 1: what is a one-way analysis of variance used for (Section 12-2)? One-way ANOVA (Analysis of Variance), is a statistical test that compares the variance in the group means within a sample while considering only one independent variable or factor. The hypothesis based test that is aimed to evaluate multiple mutually exclusive theories about data. In a one-way ANOVA there will be two different hypotheses. Meaning a test is done with two groups to see whether...
