Answer #1

null hypothesis states no statistical significance where as alternative hypothesis states statistical significance.

null hypothesis represents all other values and which ever hypothesis is accepted is decleared true by the statisfaction.

1. one side alternative hypothesis ;- Because it consider only one part of the tail that is the negative part

2. two sided alternative hypothesis ;- It consider both parts

3. one sided alternative hypothesis ;- It consider only positive part of the tail

one sided alternative hypothesis states value is either greater thanor less than u but not both, where as a two sided alternative hypothesis is simply states the value is not equal to u

Using your own words, what does it mean if we fail to reject the null hypothesis? What if we reject the null hypothesis? What does that mean? The key to answering this discussion posting is to use your own words to describe what it means to reject or fail to reject the null hypothesis. Don't use the terms in the textbook or online presentation. Using an example you personally create may help explain the difference. Thank you for your help.

Please answer True or False for the following statements: 1.) In hypothesis testing, if the null hypothesis is rejected, then the alternative or motivated hypothesis must also be rejected. 2.) Under certain conditions, binomial distributions can be approximated by normal distributions. 3.) Using a normal distribution to approximate binomial probabilities is extremely accurate, but takes an excessive amount of time and should be avoided. 4.) A bell-shaped curve is still normal, even if the mean, median, and mode are not...

In a one-way ANOVA, what does it mean to reject the statement in the null hypothesis if three treatment groups are being compared? Choose the correct answer below. A. Rejecting the statement in the null hypothesis means that there is insufficient evidence to conclude that the mean of one of the populations is different than the other two or that all three populations are different. Null hypothesis is the hypothesis that the researcher is trying to disprove. It is denoted by H0 Alternative hypothesis is the hypothesis that the researcher is trying to prove. It is reverse of null hypothesis and denoted by Ha Lets take an case where we need to test the claim which says the mean weight of the student in class of 50 students exceeds 150 pounds Here, the thing we are trying to prove is mean(u) >150 Thus, as discussed Null...
