1) Independent samples t-test.

By considering any drug as an independent variable

the effectiveness of drug can be tested between two samples who took drug and who opposed to take drug.

Hypothesis;

H₀ : (Drug is not effective)

H₁ : (Drug produce different results)

2) Dependent samples t-test.

Dependent samples t-test is also called paired sample t-test, considering blood pressure as a dependent variable we can compare the two different methods of measuring dependent variable.

Hypothesis;

H₀ : ( both methods produce same results)

H₁ : ( methods produce different results)
