An alternative hypothesis is the statement that contains the relationship between variables to be tested. Alternative hypothesis is the one which opposes the null hypothesis.

Null hypothesis is the statement of no relationship between variables.

Also null hypothesis is the statement of answering the hypothesis that is, after the result is obtained we say whether we reject the null hypothesis or fail to reject the null hypothesis.

Therefore alternative hypothesis is the research question to be studied.

For eg, if we need to test whether there exist any significant difference between mean of two samples,

Null hypothesis is there exist no significant difference between the mean, which is the statement of no relationship between variables. The conclusion will be the statement which answers whether we accept that mean are same or we fail to reject that mean is same.

And the alternative there exist significant difference in the mean of two samples, which is the statement of relationship between variables. This is the statement to be studied.

Therefore answer is B and D.
