Question 9

  1. If you conduct a One-Way ANOVA in SPSS and it is significant, which of the following statements is true?

not all population means are equal

it does not indicate which groups significantly differ from others

    all statements are true

    reject the null hypothesis

Question 7

  1. In an ANOVA, the higher the F ratio, the more likely you are to

    make a Type I Error

    make a Type II Error

    correctly reject the null hypothesis

    correctly accept the null hypothesis

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Question 9: A significant test means that the null hypothesis can be rejected and thus we have significant evidence that all the means are not equal to each other. Note that though we have significant evidence that all means are not equal to each other, we don't specifically know which of them are unequal. Therefore All of the statements are correct.

Question 7: Higher F ratio means that we can reject the null hypothesis more easily and also there is a less chance of rejecting a true null hypothesis. Therefore we are more likely to correctly reject the null hypothesis here.
