You want to see if there is evidence that the mean delivery time has been reduced below previous mean value of 25 minutes.

Answer #1

Given : Sample size=n=36

Degrees of freedom=n-1=35

Sample mean=

Sample standard deviation=s=6

Population mean =

Significance level=

The null hypothesis is :

The alternative hypothesis is

The test statistic under Ho is ,

Critical value : ; using excel "=TINV(0.05,35)"

Decision : Here ,

Therefore , reject the null hypothesis at 0.05 significance level.

Conclusion : Hence , there is sufficient evidence that the mean delivery time has been reduced below previous mean value of 25 minutes.
