mean = (xi)/n where n = 17

mean = 665/17 = 39.1177

mode = maximum time occuring value = 29 (It is repeated 3 times in the data)

b The median age based on above data is 37 > 35.1 (U.S cenus bureau) which means that at home workers are older than the population of all adults.

c. Compute first and third quartile

First quartile : It is the number below which 25% of the data lies : (n+1)/4 = 29.5

Third quartile : It is the number below which 75% of the data lies : (3*(n+1))/4 = 49.5 where n = 17
