Briefly explain why a researcher might employ a 1-way ramdomized block ANOVA instead of a simpler 1-way ramdomized ANOVA?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

one-way ramdomized block ANOVA, There is a single treatment factor allocated at random to units in each block. Usually the treatments occur once in every block, but other arrangements are possible - provided each treatment occurs exactly the same number of times in every block.

and also it will analyze the same way as a repeated measures design with one repeated measures (one within) factor.

why not One-way randomized ANOVA:

Because statistical test for comparing the means of three or more groups using a "between- subjects "

so the single treatement factor allocated to entire blocks is the key from researchers point of view to choose 1-way ramdomized block ANOVA.
