Answer #1

H0 : P = 0.29

Ha : P 0.29 (  As Ha consists of sign this would be two tail test )

z test statistic :

z =

To find p value for each given value of , first we need to calculate z

We are given sample size n = 50 and under H0, P = 0.29

a)   = 0.07

z = = -0.22 / 0.064172 = -3.43 ( rounded to 2 decimal places )

Now to find p value we have to use excel function =2*NORMSDIST(z)

(Since this is two tailed test , we need to multiply by 2 and if NORMDIST gives greater than 0.5 value then first we need to subtract it from 1 and then multiply by 2)

Excel work :

Answer : 0.0006

b) = 0.31

Answer : 0.7553

c) = 0.36

Answer : 0.2754

= 0.44

Answer : 0.0194
