What equations and statements should be used for this problem? Do I select any hypothesis I want? How do I phrase the hypothesis and write the equations? If I have data, what makes the hypothesis true or false?

1) Conduct hypothesis test by comparing monthly average between the two year

2) Within each year, run a appropriate hypothesis comparing June and August.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Solution1:

Let us assume that you have data for sales

Null hypothesis :

The true avearge sales for two years are equal .let us assume 2017 and 2018

Alternative Hypothesis:

choose level of significance as 0.05 that is alpha=0.05

Conduct t test for difference in means.

Obtain t statistic and p value .

decsion rule is

if p<0.05 reject Ho

if p>0.05 Do not reject H0

basing on this we can accept or reject claim

Solution2:

For this comapre monthly sales

ex

H0:

H1:

choose level of significance as 0.05 that is alpha=0.05

Conduct t test for difference in means.

Obtain t statistic and p value .

decsion rule is

if p<0.05 reject Ho

if p>0.05 Do not reject H0

basing on this we can support or reject the claim

Hypothesis Test Example For Proportions: What proportion of people do not drink alcohol? You believe that the proportion of people in the U.S.A. who do not drink is less than 15%. To determine if you are correct, you take a SRS of 400 U.S. residents, and find the proportion of people who do not drink in your sample is 0.22. Conduct a hypothesis test at the 5% significance level. A). Write the hypotheses for the test. B). Check the assumptions...

Our friend the waffle-man is back and wants to do more hypothesis tests for proportions, but this time for four waffle recipes. He randomly selected 250 waffle consumers and found that 100 (40%) of the 250 preferred Waffle No. 2. He conducted a hypothesis test with H0:p=0.25H0:p=0.25, Ha:p>0.25Ha:p>0.25. Notice the proportion under the null distribution is p_0 = 0.25. The test statistic for this problem is 5.47. You can verify for yourself that the probability of observing this test statistic...

For the following, indicate what type of analysis (test) you would perform and what alternative hypothesis you are testing. If you think a directional test is appropriate, make sure you incorporate this in the alternative hypothesis. In your answer, please indicate 2 things: the type of analysis AND the alternative hypothesis Important: You may not know how to do the correct analysis.
