There are several factors that explain why there is unemployment . According to given statement she has used correlation to study two groups. Correlation only tells about the linear relationship between the two variables. What if there exists some other kind of relationship between the variables. So she should go for Regression instead of correlation. After fitting the regression model she can see how model is explaining the variability in data. Also if there are many factors then they can be studied simultaneously in Regression model.
