1.I had a sample size of 10 to represent all students in a school district and accepted the null hypothesis. What type of error have I made and why?
2. If I set my level of significance at .10 and rejected the null hypothesis, what type of error have I made now and why?
3. What can I do to fix what went wrong with question 2.
1)as failure to rjeect null hypothesis wen it is false ; then it can lead to type II error,
threfore if null is false ; you have made a type II error ; otherwise it is a correct decision
2)
rejecting null hypothesis when it is true leads to type I error
therefore if null is true; you have made a type I error
3) this can be fixed by resampling ; or increasing the sample size ; also as alpha is equivalent to probabiltiy of type I error ;therefore to reduce alpha also can avoid this
