What is the difference between random and simple sampling?

What is the difference between random and simple sampling?

Answer #2

Random sampling means that members of a 'population' have equal chances of being selected. To carry out this type of sampling, you will need to use a table of random number.

Random numbers can also be generated using a calculator or computer.

Simple sampling is the basic sampling technique where we select a group of subjects (a sample) for study from a larger group (a population). Each individual is chosen entirely by chance and each member of the population has an equal chance of being included in the sample.
