A negative correlation means that there is an inverse relationship between two variables - when one variable decreases, the other increases. The vice versa is a negative correlation too, in which one variable increases and the other decreases.

Example- If a car decreases speed, travel time to a destination increases.

This is a simple example of negative correlation. As the speed of the car decreases the time taken to travel increase.

A value of zero of correlation coefficient indicates that there is no relationship between the two variable

Example-   Suppose prices of coffee and of computers are observed and found to have a correlation 0.0008

This means that there is no realtionship between the price of coffee and price of computer
