Many journals limit the p value of a statistical test to two or three decimal places. True of False
False.
P value is always rounded up to 4 decimal places . It is also acceptable if you round to 3 decimal places.
But you can't round it to 2 decimal . Because p Value is compared to level of significance 0.05,0.01 etc .
For example you have p Value 0.048 then at 0.05 level it is less than 0.05. so the result is significant. But if you round it to 2 decimal places. The p Value will be 0.05 . Which is not less than 0.05 . So we cant say that the result is significant.
So p value is always rounded to three or four decimal places.
