SOLUTION:

From given data,

What is the margin of error for a poll with a sample size of 1550 people?

Sample size = n = 1550

Since no prior estimates ,

Let us assume

= 0.5

= 0.05

/2 = 0.05 / 2 = 0.025

Z/2 = Z0.025 = 1.96

Margin of error = E = Z/2 * sqrt((1-) / n)

E = 1.96 * sqrt(0.5(1-0.5) / 1550)

E = 1.96 * 0.01270

E = 0.0249

E = 2.49 %

Margin of error =E = 2.49 %
