Answer #1

Solution:

Given that,

From the data,

= sum of bservation /n = 45/5 = 9

Sample standard deviation = S = (sum ( X - )^2/n-1)

=((12-9)^2 + (5-9)^2 + (9-9)^2 + (11-9)^2 + (8-9)^2)/5-1

=(9+16+0+4+1)/4

= 30/4

= 7.5

= 2.74

The answer is 2.74
