1.) A weight loss study measures each participant’s weight before the study and then 12 weeks into the study. A sample of 31 participants enrolled in the study and the mean difference in their weights (computed before – after) was found to be 4.1 pounds with a standard deviation of 3.2 pounds. In Minitab Express, conduct a paired means t-test to determine if there is evidence that the participants on average lost weight during the 12 weeks. Use the five-step hypothesis testing procedure and remember to include all relevant Minitab Express output.

D. Decide between the null and the alternative hypotheses.
