In non-probability sampling (also known as non-random sampling) not all members of the population have a chance of participating in the study. This is contrary to probability sampling, where each member of the population has a known, non-zero chance of being selected to participate in the study.

In other words, non-probability sampling is a sampling procedure which does not provide any basis for estimating the probability that each item in the population posses to be included in the sample.

The following is the list of the most popular non-probability sampling methods:

  4. Extensive Sampling
