Question

if an anova is significant what should be done next and why n

Answer #1

In ANOVA:

H0: Null Hypothesis: 1 = 2 = ... =n (There is no significant diffence in population means)

HA: Alternative Hypothesis: 1 2 . n (At least one population mean is significantly differendt from others.)

If ANOVA is signifant, we Reject the Null Hypothesis. We conclude that at least one population mean is significantly different from others.

In order to find out which population means are different from others, Post-hoc test, also called posterior test, is appied on the data: such as Turkey's Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) post hoc test.

Why do we run post hocs when calculating an ANOVA that is
significant, but not for a T-test that is significant (be sure to
discuss both parts of the question to get full points)?

If there are significant main effects in a 2 x 2 ANOVA, one
should conduct post hoc tests.
True or False?

What is the logic behind the ANOVA analysis? When and why should
we use it instead of the T-tests that seem to be much easier to
do?
(Question is related to lean six sigma)

Please describe the research design. What should be done on this
step, why it is needed, and at what stage of the research project
is should be developed? ( i need very good EXAMPLES thank you)

What is a post-hoc test and why is it necessary to use one after
a significant ANOVA?

If there is an overall significant F in a one-way ANOVA, can we
conclude that the group membership or treatment variable cause the
observed difference in the group means? Why or why not?

11.If there is an overall significant F in a one-way ANOVA, can

membership or treatment variable caused the observed differences
in the group means? Why or
why not?
11A.
11B. Why or why not?

12. What is the total of the ANOVA split into?
16. What is a post hoc test and why don’t you need it if your
ANOVA is not significant?
18. What happens to the curve as the degrees of freedom for the
numerator and for the denominator get larger? This information was
also discussed in previous chapters.

Q1. Why would you perform a one-way ANOVA over
a t-test? Is the answer, when the population means of only two
groups is to be compared, a t-test is used, but
when means of more than two groups are to be compared,
ANOVA is preferred (Y/N)
Q2. A rag-tag group of bandits crash the party
to steal candy. In a frenzy, you carefully record the numbers of
different candies that group grabbed. You arrange
the data in a table, below:...

Preventative care is highly significant. What can be done to
encourage preventative measures to be taken to reduce the spread of
disease?
