Here, independent variable is systolic blood pressure and dependent variable is BMI

Whereas, number of cigarettes smoked per day and total serum cholesterol will not affect the study as they are controlled while performing study

Thus, we will verify whether higher systolic blood pressure predicts increased BMI using regression.

To verify it coefficient of correlation should be positive for direct relation and it should be close to 1 for good association between independent and dependent variable
