Given a 95% confidence interval how would you tell if the interval if it is significant or not (or how would you just interpret in general)? Please explain step by step!!!!!! I am very confused as to how to interpret this interval.

Answer #1

If the null value or value under null hypothesis is lies between the 95% confidance interval then we can say the result is not significant.

If the null value or value under null hypothesis is not lies between the 95% confidance interval then we say that the result is significant.

For example, our null hypothesis is H0: mu=2.5

And 95% confidance interval is (2.2 to 3.2)

Here , null value is lies between interval hence the result is not significant.
