Discriminant analysis is used when you have one or more normally distributed interval independent variables and a categorical dependent variable. It is amultivariate technique that considers the latent dimensions in the independent variables for predicting group membership in the categorical dependent variable.

You do not have given all information regarding the question but if you have quantitative dependent and independent variables then you can use Descriminant Analysis. In this method you can draw the factor which have more impact or which are more important in that data. Also by studying your purpose you can also use chi-square test independence or you can use appropriate testing of hypothesis.
