A correlation test can measure which kinds of relationships?

A. Positive B. Negative C. A Curve-Linear Relationship D. A and B only

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Correlation test: If we are interested to know that whether there is present a linear relationship (positive or negative) between the two variables X and Y. Then we perform a correlation test. i.e. correlation test measure the linear relationship (positive or negative) between the two variables.

[ Note: Curve-Linear Relationship is not a linear relationship. So by the correlation test we can not say any thing about curve-linear relationship ]

So, we can say that, A correlation test can measure " Positive " and " Negative " linear relationship.

Answer: Correct answer is " Option D. (A and B only) "
