agree or not?

Question 1: what is a one-way analysis of variance used for (Section 12-2)?

One-way ANOVA (Analysis of Variance), is a statistical test that compares the variance in the group means within a sample while considering only one independent variable or factor. The hypothesis based test that is aimed to evaluate multiple mutually exclusive theories about data. In a one-way ANOVA there will be two different hypotheses. Meaning a test is done with two groups to see whether or there is a difference between them. However, in a one-way ANOVA you are only testing one factor for different groups.

Question 3:, what is the main difference between one-way analysis of variance and two-way analysis of variance (Section 12-3)?

Differences:

  • One-way is primarily designed to enable equality testing between three or more means. Two-way is designed to assess the interrelationship of two independent variables on a dependent variable.
  • One-way only has or will only involve one factor, but in two-way, there are two independent variables.
  • One-way will need to satisfy only two principles of design of experiment replication and randomization. However, Opposed to a two-way, which will meet all three principles of design of the experiment, which are replication, randomization, and local control.

Yes I agree with Your explaination. All the explaination are right.

One way ANOVA use one independent variable & Two Way ANOVA use independent variable

Yes I agree with Your explaination.

One way ANOVA use one independent variable & Two Way ANOVA use independent variable.

A hypothesis test that enables us to test the equality of three or more means simultaneously using variance is called One way ANOVA.. A statistical technique in which the inter-relationship between factors, influencing variable can be studied for effective decision making, is called Two-way ANOVA.

Is there any difference between a Factorial ANOVA and a One-Way ANOVA? Yes, a Factorial ANOVA has 2+ IVs, whereas a One-Way ANOVA has only 1 IV. Yes, the main purpose of a Factorial ANOVA is to test if two or more groups are significantly different from each other, whereas a One-Way ANOVA compares means across two or more independent variables.
