9. Suppose a probability and statistics class took an exam that had a mean of 60 and a standard deviation of 12. If the professor gave everyone a 10 point “curve” what would that do to the mean? What would that do to the standard deviation?

Giving a "10 point" curve to every student is like giving everybody a sample of 10. The distribution now becomes a sampling distribution.
The mean of the sampling distribution is equal to the mean of population distribution = 60
The standard deviation of sampling distribution is equal to population standard deviation divided by sqrt(sample size)
= 12/sqrt(10)
= 3.7947
Answer: Mean = 60
Standard deviation = 3.7947
