Using the following cross-classification table, graphically depict a comparison of pet ownership for males vs. females. Are gender and pet ownership related and how do you know? Upload your Excel file.

Let A: the gender of the group of people

B be the ownership status.

We have to check if they are related or indpendent.

By definition of independence, if A and B are independent then,

Now, take A=a1 and B = b1 for instance. Then,

Whereas P[A]=100/200

And P[B] = 115/200.

Clearly

So, A and B are not independent, thus related.
