Find the critical values χ²L and χ²R for the given confidence level c and sample size n.

c=.98

n=27

Homework Answers

Answer #1

We are given ,

Confidence level = c = 0.98

Significance level = = 1 - 0.98 = 0.02 , /2 = 0.01

n = 27

Degrees of freedom =df = n - 1 = 27 - 1 = 26

Left tail critical value is,

        { Using Excel,   =CHIINV( 0.99 , 26 ) = 12.1981 }

Right tail critical value is

          { Using Excel,   =CHIINV(0.01 , 26 ) = 45.6417 }
