How would the meaning of the confidence coefficient change if the predictor variable were considered a random variable?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

A confidence coefficient or also called as confidence level determines how confident we are to get the same results if we keep repeating the statistical test

If the predictor variable is a random variable then a single confidence cofficient will have little meaning because of the variable nature of this random variable the coefficients value will be in a particular range or it could be far away from the range.

The confidence coefficient will have a confidence interval rather than one specfic value

Answer True or False to each of the following. The terms “independent” variable and “predictor” variable are synonymous. If a test is run and p=0.04, then we can reject H0 at a=0.01. The larger the n, the wider the confidence interval. When r=1, all of the change in Y is explained by changes in X.
