Random assignment :

This is an experimental technique for assigning subjects to different groups in an experiment using randomization, such as by a chance procedure or a random number generator.Basically a random assignment refers chance of procedures of experiments which can ensure that each participant has the same opportunity to be assigned to any given group. It says each participant or subject has an equal chance of being placed in any group.

Examples: Flipping a coin, rolling of a dice etc.
