The normal distribution is a family of distributions that is often used to model operational processes. Based on your readings for this module, give one example, different from those supplied in the overview, of how the normal distribution can be used in an operations or production environment. This example may be from your own experience. Be sure to explain how the normal distribution is used in the example you provide.
Answer:
Based on my experience, an example from production environment is a task of pulling out a certain number of parts every hour from different sections. These sections can differ widely and so can the pull rate differ depending on the kind of items being pulled.
For example, one may pull 100 tube lights and another may be pulling chassis, so he may be able to do only 10. This standard can be used as an assessment of the pulling employees' performance and see who fall in the upper and lower percentage and how much do they deviate from the median or norm.
If we plot the data then it produce a normal curve.
