a) P(0.85 < X < 1.0) = P(0.85 < X < 0.9) + P(0.9 < X < 1.0)

                                = 0 + (1 - 0.9) / (1.1 - 0.9)

                                = 0.5

b) The mean should be (0.85 + 1.0) / 2 = 0.925
