How does contemporary Jewish worship differ from the forms of
worship found in the Jewish and Christian Scriptures (i.e., Old and
New Testaments)?
The forms of Jewish worship described in the Torah and the Bible were conventional and traditional that were based on hard rules. The service was conducted in Hebrew, men and women had sit separately, men had to cover their heads with kippah. Music instruments were not allowed while singing during the service. Only men were allowed to be Rabbis, they had to walk to the synagogue for Shabbat, as riding on any animals was a forbidden form of work on Shabbat.
Contemporary form of Jewish worship is liberal. Women can be Rabbis now. There is no separate places for men and women, they can sit together. Wearing Kippah for men has become an option now. Use of musical instrument is allowed while singing, but prayers are generally spoken. Jews travel to synagogue in their automobiles than walking.
