Sanctuary is a space where someone experiences love, warmth, security, peace, joy and caring which would give one a resilient life. My sanctuary is my home where we sit together share things, encourage and enjoy moments that we cherish. I feel empowered and supported while I’m with my family. I share whatever happened during the day and the best part about my sanctuary is that my mother would sit by me and listen empathetically. She would provide multiple options for my problems but encourages me to choose the best solution and stick to it. My father would know my financial needs and support me even before asking but he always encourages me to understand the value of money by asking me to spend it responsibly and account it. My siblings would sing, dance and eat with me thus having a good time. I feel accepted, owned and protected when I’m with my family which is my sanctuary.
