Does incarceration (jail or prison time) actually help reduce crime? Support your position.

Answer #1

Incarceration has not only reduced crime it also keeps crimes under control. The thought of going to prison makes people control their anti-social behaviors and control their emotions. Everyone gets into some kind of awkward situation where they go out of their mind but they calm themselves down or avoid those things for the fear of being locked up. An important reason why people afraid of keeping themselves away from crime and jails is because it’s considered as an anti-social behavior which would mar their reputation in the society. People are afraid of going to jail because it would break their family into pieces while they are locked inside the prisons. Going to jail would also spoil their career opportunities because no employer would like to employ someone who has gone to jail. So, I agree that incarceration reduce and control crime.
