2.List and explain the three reasons to oppose a pharmacist blocking access to a prescription for emergency contraception.
Emergency contraception is a term used for methods which can prevent pregnancy even after unprotected intercourse. However, they are not highly recommended since they may have side effects and may also not be very reliable. The advantages are the fact that they are easily accessible and prevent unwanted pregnancies. The disadvantages however are the side effects they may cause such as- vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, headaches, breast tenderness, bleeding between periods or excessive menstrual bleeding. They also don’t keep women safe from sexually transmitted diseases. Other contraception than pills such as copper T also have their share of disadvantages such as chances of infections, slower heart rate, infertility, pain during intercourse and discharge. For these reasons it is unsafe for pharmacologists to provide them as easily as they do otherwise.
