Video Game Violence and Aggression Design a quasi or a true experimental study, investigating the impact of the independent variable on the dependent variable. Address the following in 500-750 words: Design either a quasi or experimental study to investigate the variables. What is the hypothesis? Describe the types of hypotheses with respect to testing. What does the experimental method allow that the correlation design does not? Identify the independent variable. Identify the dependent variable. Describe how the group will define operationally and measure the variables. Describe how the group will obtain a random sample of participants. Discuss how the group will ensure the study has high internal validity. Will the subjects be assigned randomly to the groups? Why or why not. Are there any ethical concerns about the treatment of participants emerging from the experiment? Consider the data presented, would you use t or F score? Why? include the appropriate effect size. Submit an SPSS output for the quasi or true experimental study.

My portion of the assignment is to Describe how the group will define operationally and measure the variables. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Answer #1

In the present study, the experimental method would be used to study the effect of the playing violent video games on children’s aggression. Here, children would be randomly assigned into the experimental and control groups. Participants in the experimental group would be instructed to play a violent video game or watch someone else play it. The control group would be presented with no such gaming treatment and instead it would be engaged in a nonviolent video game. The independent variable is operationally defined as the intensity and number of gaming trials in which the participants encountered violent content. The dependent variable would be the increase in the aggressive behaviours of the participants as measured through peer nominations of real-life aggression in the participants’ free play session at school such as hitting, kicking, pushing another child, etc.

I want to design a psychology research study in spss asseing the impact of an independent variable (regular exercise over 8 weeks) on a dependent variable (depression). impact on depression measured as change in scores on the widely accepted BDI-II depression diagnostics test. Select a peer-reviewed, experimental research study that exemplifies a two-group design and a factorial design (use keywords method, results, and discussion in your Boolean search). These studies can be found using tools such as the GCU Library and Google Scholar. Write a 500-750-word paper in which you: Compare the two research designs. Identify the independent variable(s), dependent variable, and any possible extraneous variable. Identify main effects and interactions for the factorial design.
