Existing statistics are previously collected data that has been analyzed to arrive in a conclusion. In other words existing statistics are published secondary data to conduct a research.

Quantities Analysis is the research study for which existing statistics is the appropriate method. There are many sources for existing statistics like statistical abstract of govt. /research institutions, published data or research journals etc. According to me, published data from research institutions or govt. are good source of existing statistics as they are more reliable and accurate.

Many existing data are voluminous and complicated. For this purpose extensive training in statistics and computer programming is necessary. Replication and logical reasoning are often used to deal with problems of validity in analyzing Existing statistics.
