Imagine that you have a friend living in poverty. Your friend has a new baby. Using what you have learned about the manner in which poverty affects intellectual growth as well as what you have learned about resilient children, discuss with your friend what she can do to help her child develop intellectually.

According to Lev Vygotsky, the poverty can reduce the intellectuality because a child needs good food, education, nurture, and environment to grow physically as well as mentally. The poverty creates lack of confidence, insecurity, malnutrition, lack of growth etc. so that all these factors affect the intellectual growth. The cognitive development also gets affected by poverty so that as a good friend I would like to help her financially, informatively and socially. The poverty can be reduced by work so that I would suggest her to work and care her child until the mental growth is completed.

I would also help her to manage good food and nurture so that the effect of poverty on intellectual development could recover.
