Answer #1

Stereotypes form the underlying basis for discrimination and prejudice. The use of stereotypes is a major way in which we simplify our social world since they reduce the amount of processing we have to do when we meet a new person. Our cognitive systems would suffer an overload if we did not have pre-existing categorisations of social information. Because stereotyping is an essential component about how we think about the world, it is highly likely that profiling of any kind will not stop cannot stop. As human beings, we cannot completely alter the way in which our brain processes information.
