Ethnocentrism refers to the concept of judging people from other cultures on the basis of one’s own culture. This judgment is based on one’s language, customs, behaviours and religion. Stereotyping is a negative attitude and opinions one shows to people from other religions, geography, culture etc. One of my friends went to the UK for his higher studies. He was from China and he was mocked for his accent, his physical make-up and told that only English people are the best ones in the world. They also told him that Chinese people are very backward and they are not intelligent because they copy everything.
