Successful aging has 3 components:

• Freedom from disease and disability

This is the most important component and a disease-free body is the fist step in healthy lifestyle. This can be maintained by proper eating habits, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and proper physical exercise.

• High cognitive and physical functioning

Mental health is as important as physical health. It is necessary to maintain proper mental health through meditation. Giving work to your mind and all body parts through exercise can keep them active for a longer time and inturn makes you healthy.

• Social and productive engagement

It is possible to feel lonely at old age. Hence proper social circles to engage gives distraction to mind and a healthy living. Having friends and engaging in productive activities result in a healthy lifestyle.
