Answer #1

1. Feminism refers to the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes. Reformist feminists wish to diminish sexist oppression in society by reforming its policies and institutional norms to incorporate women as equal entities in the structure. They attempt to affect the policy decisions and, over time, change the institution itself. Revolutionary feminists, on the other hand, advocate for a complete dismantling of the current system. For revolutionary feminists, attempting to reform a highly masculinized institution that is inherently and irrevocably patriarchal is insufficient to generate real change.

2. Sisterhood encourages women to support each other in order to end sexism.

3. Consciousness-raising refers to the process of spreading awareness about the nature of male dominance entrenched in our social structure.

4. Patriarchy is defined as a social system in which males hold primary power and predominate in roles of political leadership, moral authority, social privilege and control of property.
