Paleo-anthropology is the branch of archaeology which deals with human development. The modern field of palaeoanthropology began in the 19th century with the discovery of Neanderthal man.

The palaeoanthropology helps us to understand the development of modern human and also help us to understand the historical biology of humans. As the branch of anthropology, we can understand the problems behind human developments and its settings in various places like Africa, Indian sub-continent, Australia etc.

Fossil evidence helps us to understand the development process as well as problems.
