I believe that personality is the result of both nature and nurture, but nurture tends to play a greater role in how traits are expressed. Personality can be conceptualized as a set of behaviors that represent broad tendency to respond to situations and circumstances. How one chooses to respond is largely determined by the environment they find themselves in, even though they may possess a certain response tendencies. In this way, personality is far from stable and changes dynamically based on time and space.
