Be honest. Write about your ageist thoughts. In what ways do you view elderly people in general? Do you ever find yourself frustrated when you are behind them in line at the grocery store, or predicting someone who is driving poorly to be old? Do you think that ageism is a legitimate issue that needs to be addressed in society, or is it just a “politically correct” concern? How might such stereotyping affect those in late adulthood?

When it comes to elderly people I do not find myself frustrated when I am behind them in a line of grocery stores and I do not predict someone to be old just because they are driving poorly. This is not a biased response as I genuinely feel that adulthood stereotypes result in deteriorating conditions of elderly and aging people. This is something which society needs to address because past observations and studies have shown that we are not effectively equipped to deal with the issues which originate either in old age or towards old age. It must be kept in mind that right now the population of old people is less than the population of young people which means that in the coming future there will be more elderly people to deal with than our healthcare system is capable of handling. Conditions like amnesia have no answers in our current medical advancements and if we do not take this seriously then we'll have to deal with the majority of the population going through similar conditions without any support from the medical industry which can result in chaos.
