According to structural functionalism, our society is a complex system whose parts work together leading to the solidarity and stability of our society. Mass school shootings are basically due to the parts of society not working together. This lack of cooperation and presence of mistrust and rage in the different parts of the society is responsible for the terrorist activities. Thus the prevailing discriminations ad rifts in a society lead to terrorist activities such as mass school shootings.
